We are proud to announce that Frank Tisher OAM has been acknowledged for his outstanding contribution to the legal profession with one of the Law Institute of Victoria’s most prestigious honours – The Distinguished Service Award.

The Distinguished Service Award, decided by LIV Council, acknowledges members and other individuals who have provided valuable service over a sustained period to the LIV and significantly contributed to the advancement, promotion and improvement of the Victorian legal profession.

Frank commenced his articles in 1968 and only 2 years later he boldly started his own practice. In 1972, he merged with Dennis Liner to co-found Tisher Liner & Co, which next year will celebrate our 50th anniversary. Frank has always been ahead of the rest – he was in the first intake of property lawyers to gain their property law accreditation in 1993.

He has been a strong mentor for law students and junior lawyers over many years. He has supported the firm’s ongoing development and commitment and upholds a strong sense of community values. He has a strong desire to give back to the community, these are just a few of his accomplishments and committees:

  • Medal of the Order of Australia, Service to Aged Care, Cultural & Sporting Organisations, June 2014;
  • 50 years service award, Law Institute of Victoria;
  • Member, Property Law Committee, Law Institute of Victoria;
