Spousal Maintenance
Spousal maintenance involves the provision of financial support, whether as a lump sum or by way of periodic or non-periodic payments, by one party to another following separation.
This requires an assessment of the financial circumstances of each party to the relationship to ascertain if there is a basis for the payment of maintenance.
As with the adjustment of property interests, spousal maintenance can be formalised by way of Court Orders or in a Financial Agreement.
Whether you think you may be entitled to receive spousal maintenance or you are concerned to limit your spousal maintenance obligation, our Family Law team are here to provide you with advice.
