Due Diligence – Interview with Ron Cohen

Principal, Ron Cohen was recently interviewed to discuss the reasons why it is important to have a good property lawyer review a contract of sale and conduct a legal due diligence before the purchaser signs and enters into a binding unconditional contract.
Ron discussed several issues including:
- Pitfalls and traps when purchasing a development site;
- Tricks and traps when buying a commercial property subject to GST and/or a lease;
- Purchasing a property within a plan of subdivision; and
- Buying into a property owned under a company title.
Ron also discussed the distinctions between using a lawyer and conveyancer to act on a property purchase.
