Angela has extensive experience in property, leasing and private commercial lending. She achieves commercially-focused solutions for her clients with a meticulous attention to detail.
Angela spent the first decade of her legal career in the property law space, acting for commercial clients in the acquisition and disposition of real estate, preparing and advising on lease agreements, conducting legal due diligence, advising on, negotiating and drafting contracts and other agreements relating to land, and providing advice on land tax and transfer duty exemptions. She also has experience acting for private lenders and borrowers to negotiate and prepare loan facility documents and to provide advice on loan securities including the PPSR.
Angela now almost exclusively practices in the area of commercial, industrial and retail leasing for landlords and tenants, and is Tisher Liner FC Law’s resident leasing guru. She regularly negotiates and drafts lease documents for a broad range of clientele including owners of CBD buildings and inner city sites, shopping centres and retail complexes, commercial and industrial factories, and various types of retail premises. Angela takes a commercially intuitive approach to all matters, confidently advising her clients on a range of leasing matters. She a particular interest in commercial industrial leases, retail leases and the Retail Leases Act and enjoys presenting on the topic of leasing at numerous in-house and external CPD and webinar sessions.
Although Angela focuses most entirely on property transaction work, Angela worked extensively on the Supreme Court and VCAT case that produced the judgement of Croft J in Koga Nominees Pty Ltd v Loscam Australia Pty Ltd & Ors [2018] VSC 455, which was a matter involving numerous legal complexities in relation to leasing, the Retail Leases Act, and complex procedural and jurisdictional issues.
With a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts from Monash University, Angela is fluent in Greek and spent several years as a Greek teacher. She has two children and enjoys various creative outlets including art, music, interior design and curling up with a good book.
Well, maybe it started that way. As a dream, but doesn’t everything. Those buildings. These lights. This whole city. Somebody had to dream about it first. And maybe that is what I did. I dreamed about coming here, but then I did it.
