Legal practice: Tisher Liner FC Law Pty Ltd
Client: The party using the chatbot interview
Matter: Use of online chatbot interview and document
Dated: the date that the chatbot interview is purchased
Pursuant to Division 3 of Division 4.3 of the Legal Profession Uniform Law (Victoria) we must disclose to you the following information about legal costs.
Legal Costs – Sub-section 174(1)(a)
Our legal costs for use of the chatbot and document are determined by a fixed price as indicated on our website.
Disbursements
You will not incur any disbursements through the use of the chatbot.
Goods and Services Tax
Any Goods and Services Tax or like tax incurred shall be payable by you in addition to the professional charges and disbursements.
Estimate of Costs
We estimate the total legal costs, inclusive of GST and disbursements will be the amount set out on the website for the particular chatbot interview and document you select.
Retention of another lawyer – Section 175
If we need to engage another law practice on your behalf (including a barrister), we will provide you with information on their charge rates and estimated costs as soon as practicable after that information is provided to us by that law practice. We note that this will not be required noting our scope of services is limited only to your use of the chatbot interview and provision of the document from that chatbot interview.
Your rights – Sub-sections 174 (2)
You have the following rights:
- to negotiate a costs agreements with us.
- to negotiate a billing method.
- to receive a bill of costs from us.
- to request an itemised bill after receipt of a bill that is not itemised or is only partially itemised. The request must be made within 30 days after the date upon which the legal costs became payable.
Your review rights – Sub-sections 174(2) and 272(2) & (3)
In the event of a dispute or complaint in relation to legal costs or the provision of legal services, please contact us in the first instance. If we are unable to resolve your complaint there are a number of alternative courses of action which you may take:-
- You may seek the assistance of the Victorian Legal Services Commissioner under Chapter 5 of the Uniform Law within 60 days after the legal costs became payable or, if an itemised bill was requested, within 30 days after we complied with the request.
- Under Division 7 of Part 4.3 of the Uniform Law you may apply for an assessment of the whole or any part of the legal costs by the Costs Court within 12 months after a bill is given to you or we request payment of costs or you pay the costs without a bill being given or request for payment being made.

Costs Agreement
Between:
Legal practice: Tisher Liner FC Law Pty Ltd
Client: The party using the chatbot interview
Matter: Use of online chatbot interview and document
Dated: the date that the chatbot interview is purchased
Division 4 of Part 4.3 of the Legal Profession Uniform Law (Victoria) allows a law practice and you (the client) to agree on how the law practice’s legal costs are to be calculated and paid. It is called a “Costs Agreement” and it may be enforced in the same way as any other contract.
This document is an offer to enter into a Costs Agreement. You may accept this Costs Agreement purchasing the chatbot interview or proceeding with the chatbot interview.
The terms of the Costs Agreement are set out in this agreement.
Who will do the work– Our online chatbot platform.
Legal Costs– Our legal costs for use of the chatbot and document are determined by a fixed price as indicated on our website.
Disbursements– You will not incur any disbursements through the use of the chatbot.
Goods and Services Tax– Any Goods and Services Tax or like tax incurred shall be payable by you in addition to the professional charges and disbursements.
Billing arrangements– You will need to prepay for any service you obtain.
Privacy– The privacy of your information is important to us. We will use our best endeavours to ensure that it is held, used and disclosed consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles stated in the Privacy Act 1988 where the Act applies.
Changing the terms of our engagement– We reserve the right to negotiate an updated Agreement with you.
Bringing our engagement to an end– Our engagement with us in relation to this matter will cease once you have been provided the document following your chatbot interview.
Keep documents– We both agree that you authorise us to not retain copies of any documents produced via the chatbot interview.
Copyright in documents produced
We retain all copyright and other intellectual property rights associated with any document or content prepared by us and only provide you with a limited non-exclusive non-transferrable right to use the document or content prepared for the sole purpose for which we are briefed. Unless specifically stated in our scope of services that the document is prepared as a template for unlimited uses in different transactions, you are not permitted to use any document or content prepared by us other than for the specified transaction for which it was created.
Confirming our engagement
This agreement constitutes an offer to act for you on the terms above. You are advised to seek independent legal advice before signing or otherwise accepting this Costs Agreement.
If you proceed with using the chatbot, the terms set out above will constitute a costs agreement between us. We are happy to discuss any aspect of this letter with you. If you want to do this please call us on 03 8600 9333.
